Many Hands , published since 1979, is a magazine for readers seeking information about holistic health practices including disciplines of the body-mind connection. The continuing operational goal of Many Hands is to provide information about ways of maintaining psychological, physical and emotional vitality and wellness. The format of both the magazine and the website encourages advertisers to fully describe their product or service in their own words and offers readers a chance to learn more about the many options available to them in our region.

DISTRIBUTION
Many Hands prints 20,000 copies four times a year in March, June, September and December. Since MANY HANDS is a quarterly resource directory and a magazine, it is used as a reference tool in the home and office over a three-month period and each copy is read by an average of three people.
Many Hands is broadly distributed at over 250 locations from Brattleboro, Vermont to Hartford, Connecticut; and from the Berkshires to Worcester. Our distribution points include specially-targeted stores, libraries, healing centers and practitioners' offices in addition to educational centers, churches, college campuses and more. Mailed subscriptions are also available at $6 per single copy or $24 per year.
CONTENT
The editorial section of Many Hands includes regular features on health, psychology, inner development, social change, book and music reviews and coverage of special events.
We enjoy publishing works by local writers, and we welcome ideas for articles, reviews and interviews. We are particularly interested in case studies. Please see below for our submission guidelines.

THE COVER
The cover design is by Lucy Pickett of Northampton, a graphic artist. We are always looking for original art or photographs for our covers in exchange for acknowledgment and thanks on page five.

Many Hands welcomes letters from readers for publication. They should be sent to editor@manyhands.com. Letters are subject to editing and condensing. Please put ''Letter to Many Hands'' in the subject line and include hometown and a daytime phone number (not for publication) where you can be contacted.
GUIDELINES AND POLICIES FOR ARTICLE SUBMISSION
Articles should contain information that is relevant to holistic health, personal growth, alternative medicine, spirituality, human potential, or the frontier sciences.
Articles should provide new information that is clearly substantiated and detailed with appropriate references provided. Articles should include a brief author's biography (75 words).
Maximum length should be 1,000 words. Longer articles will either be returned or shortened by the editor. The editor reserves the right to edit all material for the purpose of clarity, spacing and content. Avoid the use of jargon.
All work must be submitted in electronic format (as a text file or a Word document, preferably) with little or no formatting and no embedded graphics. Sending work as an email attachment is the fastest and easiest way to submit.
Many Hands does not pay for unsolicited articles. An article may be held for future publication for as long as one year. If Many Hands does publish an article, Many Hands retains the copyright to that article. The publisher of Many Hands must agree to any requests to publish the article elsewhere.
